Celebrating Women’s Day with Mall For Women

On 9 August 2025, the Mall for Women community celebrated its fifth anniversary with a digital conference dedicated to empowering and celebrating women. The celebration was a day dedicated to honoring, uplifting, and empowering women across South Africa. The event was a resounding success, featuring inspiring talks, a virtual shopping spree, and uplifting music.

This year’s theme was simple yet powerful: Beauty, Fashion, Entrepreneurship, and Community. From the comfort of their homes, women (and men!) joined us online to hear from 10 phenomenal South African women who shared their journeys, insights, and encouragement.

The program was packed with stories of resilience, entrepreneurship, leadership, and the importance of women empowering women. Each speaker reminded us that when women rise, communities and nations rise too.

One of the highlights of the conference was a talk by Dr. Singh, a medical aesthetic practitioner, who provided a fresh perspective on aesthetics. She explained that aesthetics goes beyond physical appearance and is deeply connected to emotional and mental well-being, helping women build confidence. Dr. Singh also shared her excitement for modern non-invasive treatments like VASER liposuction and skin tightening technologies, which she sees as significant advancements in the field. A key piece of advice she offered was to seek treatment locally, emphasizing that South Africa has some of the best medical practitioners and technologies available, and traveling abroad for procedures can lead to complications.

The conference also featured engaging musical interludes with hits from artists like Rihanna, Celine Dion, and Alicia Keys. The event concluded with an outpouring of gratitude from participants, who expressed how the conference had empowered and connected them with a strong community of women.
